FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use your illustrations for my brand?
Illustration is a kind of language, everybody understands, no matter of nationality or cultural background. My drawing can be understood within a milli second. And time is money. You can transport style, message, complex contents with just a few drawings. It's genius. You don't need to hire models, travel to a photo location, transport equipment and all the other necessary things, you just have to hire me!
What type of clients do you work with?
I work directly with art directors and marketing directors of major international companies, brands and publishers.
How much does commissioning an illustration cost?
Quotes vary based on the nature of the commissioned work: its usage (where will the artwork be used and for how long?), its size (are we talking business card or billboard?), market (an international or local campaign?), number of deliverables, and complexity. To discuss your project and get a quote, please get in touch via my contact form.
How long does it usually take for you to complete a project?
The timeline for a project depends on the nature of the work, its complexity, the number and size of the deliverables required, my workload, and your deadlines. The timeline for each project is discussed in advance and outlined in the agreement.
After the briefing I create some rough sketches, for more complex projects also a moodboard to ensure that we want to go in the same direction. We can do revisions, if necessary. If everythings approved I start with the coloring.
Can I request revisions on your works?
A set number of revisions is included in the agreement, as well as any additional costs for revisions that exceed the agreed-upon limit.
What are the copyright and licensing options when hiring an illustrator?
Copyright for the artwork remains with the artist and is not transferred to the client unless expressly stated in the contract. Depending on the specific project and the usage of the artwork, copyright and licensing options (e.g., exclusive or non-exclusive licensing, royalties, etc.) are discussed and detailed in the agreement prior to the start of the project.
